Pietra delivers marble work two ways. In the Greater Toronto Area we run the project from first measure to final install with our own insured crew. Anywhere else in Canada we fabricate to spec and ship the piece for your contractor or stone installer to set. Both paths use the same shop, the same stones, and the same fabrication standards.
For projects in the GTA we handle the work end to end. Our lead fabricator measures on site, our shop fabricates the piece, and our own crew sets it. You get one point of contact for the whole project and one company carrying the insurance.
Our lead fabricator comes to you, measures the opening, vanity wall, or full surface, photographs context, and confirms structural conditions. Templating typically takes 60 to 90 minutes. We bring physical stone samples so you see the marble against your finishes in your light.
We share shop drawings within five business days for your approval. For unique stones we book a quarry visit or send slab photos for sign-off before cutting. Final dimensions, profiles, finish, and bookmatching direction get locked here.
Most pieces fabricate in three to six weeks depending on stone availability and complexity. Carved profiles such as fluting, bas-relief, and ogee edges take longer. We send progress photos at key milestones.
Our own insured installation crew handles delivery and set. Vanities and bath fixtures get integrated with your plumber. Archways and surrounds are scribed to existing trim. A typical archway installs in one to two days; a full-wall surface installation takes three to five.
For projects outside the GTA we fabricate in Toronto and ship to your contractor or stone installer. The fabrication standard is identical to our GTA work; what changes is the templating method and who sets the piece.
For straightforward openings and rectangular pieces we work from dimensioned drawings or measurements you provide. For complex profiles or scribed work we ship a templating kit (rigid corrugated stock, cutting blade, instructions) and your installer returns the template by courier. Kit turnaround is one week.
Same shop drawings process as the GTA path. For ship-only orders we recommend a video walkthrough of the actual slab before cutting, since you won't see the stone in person until it arrives at your jobsite.
Same three to six week fabrication window. Pieces are crated in custom wooden frames with foam padding and corner protection. Crates ship LTL freight on dedicated trucks for fragile cargo, or on a flatbed for very large pieces.
We coordinate with your contractor for delivery timing, dock or driveway access, and tail-lift requirements. Ship time is two to four business days within Canada. Your installer signs for the crate and inspects for transit damage on receipt. We cover damage in transit, but documentation matters.
Your installer does the work. We provide written install guides, profile-specific mounting instructions, and remote support by phone or video for any issues. Most professional stone installers and high-end finish carpenters can set Pietra work without specialized training.
A licensed contractor or experienced stone installer with appropriate lifting equipment for the piece weight. We provide weight specifications for every shipment. Standard tools the installer should have on hand: dolly or piano dolly, suction handles, levels, clear silicone, and shims. For wall-mounted panels: stud finder and appropriate anchors per our specification.
Pricing varies by stone, size, profile complexity, and whether installation is included. We send firm quotes within one business day.

We carry $5 million general liability and WSIB coverage on all installation crew. Lien protection is built into the draw schedule on every GTA project. Stone is warranted against fabrication defect for one year from delivery.
For ship-only projects we cover damage in transit. Documentation at receipt is the trigger: your installer should photograph the crate condition before opening and the contents immediately after. We replace any piece damaged in shipping at no additional cost.
Natural marble is a living material. Veining variation, minor surface healing, and small filled voids are characteristics of premium stone, not defects. Our shop drawings call out any features in your specific slab before cutting.
