The Shadow Gap profile recesses the outer edge of the marble surround behind the surrounding wall plane by approximately 3/8 inch, creating a continuous shadow line where the marble meets the wall. The gap reads as a deliberate architectural seam rather than a transition; the result is an opening that floats visually rather than appearing inset into the wall.

The Shadow Gap profile requires precise coordination with the surrounding wall finish. The reveal is achieved through careful templating that accounts for the final wall plane (drywall thickness, plaster coat thickness, paint or finish layer). For projects where wall finishes are still to be specified at the time of marble templating, we coordinate with your contractor or designer to lock in the wall thickness before fabrication begins.
