Toronto is the centre of our work. Our shop, our crew, and the great majority of our installations are within the city and the surrounding GTA. The neighbourhood pages below cover the specific architectural contexts we work in most often.

Toronto's luxury residential market is mature, deep, and architecturally diverse. The city has more historical luxury housing stock than any other Canadian market (Forest Hill, Rosedale, the Annex, Lawrence Park, Hogg's Hollow, and several other neighbourhoods all have meaningful inventories of Edwardian, Victorian, Tudor Revival, and Georgian Revival mansions) and a rapidly expanding contemporary luxury market driven by both new construction and gut renovations of older homes.
What this means for marble specification: we work in two parallel registers in the same week. Traditional and transitional projects in the historical neighbourhoods often want classical edge profiles, polished finishes, and stones with multi-century pedigrees (Carrara White, Calacatta Gold, Statuario). Contemporary projects in newer construction or in renovated historical homes lean toward honed finishes, contemporary edge profiles, and stones with shorter but vivid contemporary stories (Calacatta Viola, Verde Guatemala, Sahara Noir). Pietra is set up to specify and fabricate across both registers.
Pietra runs full-service marble fabrication and installation across the entire Greater Toronto Area. Our crew templates on site, fabricates in our shop, and installs the finished pieces with our own insured installers. The complete service offering is described on the how we work page; the cities and neighbourhoods we serve regularly:

Projects outside the GTA are handled through our ship-across-Canada program, where we fabricate in Toronto and your contractor or stone installer sets the piece on site.
Three things distinguish luxury marble specification in Toronto from similar work in other major North American luxury markets:
The climate. Toronto winters are unkind to calcium carbonate stones in exterior applications. Freeze-thaw cycling on porous stones causes fracturing over time; this rules out exterior cladding in marble for most of our climate (we recommend granite or appropriate quartzite for any outdoor installation). Interior installations are unaffected, but the climate consideration shapes specification across the project.
The deep historical housing stock. Many of our most interesting projects involve marble specifications that need to work alongside existing architectural details from a century earlier. A Forest Hill Tudor Revival kitchen renovation has different aesthetic constraints than a brand-new Bridle Path estate. Pietra is set up to work in both registers and to specify stones, profiles, and finishes that respect the host architecture.
The designer ecosystem. Toronto has more luxury residential interior designers per capita than any other Canadian market. Studios like Studio Paolo Ferrari, Yabu Pushelberg, Cecconi Simone, and several others have international reputations and deep relationships with high-end fabricators. Pietra works with these studios regularly; trade pricing applies on confirmation of business credentials.
